We therefore want to provide you with the most trusted and up to date information including details of the protocols in place to protect you,  giving you peace of mind when you are exploring all that we have to offer in Orlando and the Greater Florida area. Restaurants, bars, retail outlets and attractions and other businesses are required to follow the guidelines from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) and the mandates set forth by the State of Florida and their respective County and Municipal guidelines.

As of July 15, 2020 is in Phase 2 of Florida’s Recovery with the following measures are in place to counter the impacts of COVID 19:

By Business Type:

  • Restaurants may offer outdoor seating with six feet between tables and indoor seating at 50% building capacity, excluding employees and may allow bar-top seating with appropriate social distancing
  • Bar areas may be open with seated service. In addition, outdoor seating is permissible with appropriate social distancing. Nightclubs shall remain closed.
  • As of June 26, 2020, Bars and Nightclubs specifically that derive more than 50% of their income from alcohol, have been ordered to suspend the sale of alcohol on-site due to an increase in COVID cases, however they may server alcohol of off-site consumption. (See Executive Order Here)
  • Retail stores may operate at full capacity with responsible social distancing and sanitization protocols.
  • Personal care services such as beauty salons and barbershops , tattoo parlors, acupuncture establishments, tanning salons, and massage establishments reopen may operate while adhering to guidance from the Florida Department of Health.   • Entertainment businesses, including movie theaters, concert houses, auditoriums, playhouses, and bowling alleys and arcades may operate at 50 percent capacity.
  • Amusement parks must submit re-opening plans and must be endorsed by the local government in their jurisdiction.

For All Businesses:

  • Open businesses should follow appropriate social distancing and sanitation measures and limit groups to 10 people. See CDC guidance for more detail. For a detailed County by County regulations and executive orders.
  • Face masks are recommended (required in some counties and by some businesses). See CDC guidance on face masks for customers, employees and employers.
  • Businesses that exceed occupancy limitations are subject to criminal charges and fines may be imposed. Certain regulated businesses may face enforcement action for violations from their regulatory agency. 

 For Travelers

  • Everyone entering Florida from the New York Tri-State Area (Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York) must isolate or quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry or the duration of the presence in Florida, whichever is shorter.
  • People employed by the airlines and those performing military, emergency, health, infrastructure or work-related activity are exempt.
  • Exceptions also include students traveling for the purpose of academic work, internships, sports training and any other activity or program approved by the educational institution.
  • Additional guidelines and requirements for restaurants hosting patrons include:
  • Single-serve condiments are used when possible. If full-size containers are used, they must be cleaned after each use.
  • High-touch locations such as seating areas, counters, doorknobs and bathrooms must be frequently disinfected.
  • Menus should be disinfected between each use or offered in a no-touch form such as message boards, online or as a printed disposable.
  • Self-service drink stations, buffets and salad bars are limited or restricted in certain areas.

Recommendations for Individuals and Patrons of Businesses:

  • Individuals over 65 or with underlying medical conditions are strongly encouraged to avoid crowds and take measures to limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
  • All individuals, when in public, should maintain at least six feet between themselves and others.
  • All persons in Florida are encouraged to avoid congregating in groups larger than 50.
  • Face masks are recommended (required in some counties) for all those in face-to-face interactions and where you can’t social distance. (This may be required by a specific business prior to entry)
  • All persons who work in long-term care facilities should be tested for COVID19 on a routine basis.
  • Tourists entering Florida from the New York Tri-State Area (Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York) must isolate or quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry or the duration of the presence in Florida, whichever is shorter. Exceptions apply only for certain work related and student related activities.
